Gloria Ferrer Anniversary Cuvée
This limited edition sparkling wine is produced from our estate vineyards in the Carneros region of Sonoma, California. Everything about the wine is carefully chosen, from the hand-picked Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes to the time honored méthode traditionnelle of resting the bottles in our caves.
A blend of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay.
Grapes are handpicked and transported to the winery in small bins where they are gently whole-cluster pressed to retain the delicate vibrancy and freshness. Only the first press, with the most delicate flavors and aromas, is used for this wine that is fermented in stainless steel tanks at 55-60°F. After 6 months of first fermentation, the winemaking team assembles the final blend from 14 wine lots. The wine is then bottled and aged on the lees for 5 years to develop complexity and effervescence.
Aged minimum 5.5 years.
Aromas of Asian pear and ripe apple with a touch of honey and vanilla.
The mouth is greeted with a rich and creamy mousse and the fruit of the nose continues on adding crème brûlée and stone fruit layered over black cherry. The finish is long and wraps up with a hint of fresh ginger.
This reputable brut is the perfect accompaniment to oysters on the half shell with a chipotle lime mignonette or classic Maine lobster with drawn butter. With cherry and peach notes on the palate and its brilliant acidity, the wine pairs well with lemon meringue pie or stone fruit galette with crème fraîche.
