grape
70% Tempranillo, 30% Graciano
vinification
Tempranillo harvest begins mid-September in the Rioja Alavesa. A week later, the Graciano is harvested. Both varieties are hand harvested and carry out their alcoholic fermentation in controlled temperatures between 78-80F with pump-over and delestages necessary to obtain the structure of a reserve wine. The malolactic fermentation is carried out during the month of November with selected yeast. The varietals then continue their separate fermentation with French and American oak aging for 12 months. The top quality barrels are selected for blending, clarification and filtration. Then the wine rests in the bottle for at least 24 months, achieving greater persistence and elegance.
